The Ridgway Area Trails (RAT) System is located just outside of Ridgway on BLM land off County Road 10. The trailhead can be accessed by road or the paved bike path from either the Town of Ridgway or Ridgway State Park. The RAT System has approximately 22 miles of of super-fun, fast, swooping, rolling, rollicking descents and several long, gradual climbs – all on super-buffed, hand-built singletrack. The trails were built by the Ridgway Area Trails Chapter of COPMOBA. More trails are being built this fall. The elevation of Ridgway is 6,900 feet and the terrain is typical Foothill scrubland with Gambel oak, Mountain mahogany and Sagebrush. The soil is hard-packed with some gravel. These are great trails for all levels of riders from beginner to advanced. [Getting Here]
