The Sarlacc Trail snakes along the top of the Bookcliffs that form the northern edge of the Grand Valley. This trail runs nearly 8 miles and offers some of the best adventure and most unique views of any ride in the Grand Valley. To highlight the experience of riding this trail, we shot a section with a 360 degree camera. We see this as an interesting test to gauge future tools we are considering adding to Cycling Western Colorado’s ability to help people find great rides in Western Colorado. Let us know what yo think about 360 video and how you would like to see it incorporated in the information available from Cycling Western Colorado.
We will have a more comprehensive video and Ride Report on the Sarlacc Trail shortly. Please enjoy the 360 video and the Ride Report during the Sarlacc off season. Sarlacc is closed December 1st through May 1st to protect wildlife and the trail itself. It is important that we respect the seasonal closure and the wildlife so that we can maintain good relations with the Colorado Parks and Wildlife and have opportunities to build new trail in this area.
