Grand Junction is located at the junction of the Colorado and Gunnison Rivers and I-70 corridor 12 miles west of Palisade and 12 miles east of Fruita. With a population of approximately 60,000, it is the largest city in Western Colorado. At an elevation of 4595, it is situated at the base of the Colorado National Monument. In addition to world-class singletrack mountain bike trails at the Lunch Loop mountain bike area and awe-inspiring road rides through the Colorado National Monument, Grand Junction is home to Colorado Mesa University and first-class health care at several local hospitals including St. Marys Regional Medical Center, Community Hospital and the Veterans Administration Hospital. In addition to abundant outdoor recreation opportunities such as hiking, running, rafting, golfing, off-roading, and disc golf, time off the bike can be spent eating at local restaurants, poking around downtown Grand Junction shops and farmer’s market, listening to live music, or exploring museums or the botanical garden just to name a few!
